Our Sessions & Fees
The Stacey Pre-School is a term-time only setting for children aged from 2 years old up to 5 years of age.
We open from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and follow the 38 weeks of funded support provided by Portsmouth City Council.
Our sessions run as follows:

Morning session: 9 a.m. - 12 noon

Lunch session: 12 noon - 1 p.m.

Afternoon session: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Full Day session: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Each 3-hour morning or afternoon session costs £18.00 or 3 hours from your Government funding.

A Full Day session costs £ 42.00 or 7 hours from your Government funding.

A 1-hour lunch session costs £ 6.00 or 1 hour from your Government funding.

You are free to choose any combination of Morning, Lunch, Afternoon or Full Day sessions.

All fees for regular sessions are invoiced monthly and are due for payment at the start of each month.

Any extra/ad-hoc sessions or any additional costs will be invoiced weekly in arrears.
Government Funded Childcare
All 3 to 4 year olds can get 570 hours per year free early years education and childcare provided to the setting as Government funding. This can be taken as 15 hours per week for each of the 38 weeks the Stacey Pre-School is open.
This is known as 'universal funding' and is available from the term after your child turns 3 years old. You do not need to apply for universal funding but you do need to :

Complete our "New Parent Pack" including the "All About Me" activity.

Provide us with a copy of your child's birth certificate

Complete the "Parental Declaration" funding form
If you are eligible for extended funding e.g. 15 hours for 2 year olds or 30 hours for 3-4 year olds, you will also need to:

Provide us with your funding entitlement code

Confirm the National Insurance number of the parent/carer who is claiming the funding..
Extended Entitlement & Changes to Funded Childcare
Some 3-4 year olds of working families may be eligible for 30 hours free Government funded childcare per week.
Some 2 year olds may be eligible for 15 hours free Government funded childcare per week.
NEW - From April 2024: all working families with 2 year old children will be entitled to 15 hours free Government funded childcare per week.
NEW - From September 2024: all working families with children aged from 9 months of age will be entitled to 15 hours free Government funded childcare per week.
NEW - From September 2025: all working families with children aged from 9 months of age will be entitled to 30 hours free Government funded childcare per week.
Tax Free Childcare
We are registered as Tax-Free Childcare providers. Subject to eligibility, this means that for every £8 you pay into an online account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year.
Universal Credit for Childcare
For working families claiming Universal Credit: Up to 85% of eligible childcare costs are paid by Universal Credit, providing you aren’t receiving Tax-Free Childcare.
Parents can use Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit for Childcare AND claim their 15 or 30 hours of Government funded childcare.
Eligibility
Children will automatically qualify for 15 hours free Government funded childcare from the start of the term following their 3rd birthday. For example a child who is 3 on February 20th (Spring Term) will not qualify for 3 year old funding until the start of the Summer Term.*
With the exception of 15 hours universal funding for 3-4 year olds, parents are responsible for checking their eligibility at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk A Government Gateway account will be needed and you will be provided with a unique entitlement code which you must pass on to your childcare provider. Parents are also responsible for checking their eligibility every 3 months.
